Divya Pillai to romance Jayaram in Grand Father

Actress Divya Pillai might just be two films old but those movies had her sharing screen space with two of Mollywood prominent stars - Fahadh Faasil and Prithviraj. Now, she will be seen in Aneesh Anwar’s Grand Father, which has Jayaram in the lead.

If the actress played Fahadh fan in Ayal Njanalla and a middle-class girl who romances Prithviraj in Jeethu Joseph’s Oozham, she will be playing “a simple girl who falls in love with Jayaram’s character” in the upcoming film, says Aneesh.

The filmmaker, who is busy gearing up for the shoot of the movie, tells us that he cannot reveal more about the roles of both Jayaram and Divya as the movie’s suspense is tied to their characters.


He, however, divulges that the film will have three heroines. “Divya plays Jayaram’s love interest. Surabhi, who had acted in Kuttanadan Marpapa, and popular ad model Asha Aravind will be playing pivotal roles too. As the film is women-centric, all three actresses have integral roles,” he explains.

The film will go on floors on December 10 and will be shot in Alappuzha, Thrissur and Ooty. Scripted by Shani Khader, the film will have Jayaram playing a grandfather for the first time.

He had earlier told us, “Though I haven’t been ‘lucky’ yet to be a grandfather in real life, I will soon be one on screen. The film would be a hilarious entertainer which has liberal ounces of humour, suspense and emotions. I am working on my look to become the perfect grandpa and I am trying to grow my beard for it.”

Meanwhile, Aneesh reveals that another vital character in the film will be played by a boy. “We are in search of a cute little boy for that role,” he says.
