Malayalam superstar Suresh Gopi recently disclosed an intriguing fact about the superhit classic film 'Thenkasi Pattanam' during a promotional event for his upcoming thriller film 'Garudan.' According to the actor, what audiences witnessed on the final screen was not the initial story draft created for 'Thenkasi Pattanam'; rather, the shooting for the film commenced after the eighth draft.
Talking to the media, Suresh Gopi went on to reveal that each of the eight drafts prepared for the movie was convincing, and he personally appreciated this as it allowed him to contribute his insights and ideas to the script. He even wondered why the writer-director duo Rafi Mecartin kept revising the drafts. In acknowledging their dedication and hard work, Suresh Gopi expressed his admiration for Rafi and Mecartin's relentless pursuit of script perfection.
'Thenkasi Pattanam' is a 2000 Indian Malayalam-language action comedy film written and directed by Rafi Mecartin. The evergreen film stars an ensemble cast, including Suresh Gopi, Lal, and Dileep in leading male roles, with Samyuktha Varma, Geethu Mohandas, and Kavya Madhavan as the female leads. Notable supporting roles were portrayed by Salim Kumar and Spadikam George.
With its strong premise, acting, songs, and well-executed comedies, ‘Thenkashi Pattanam’ is surely one of the best commercial entertainers in Mollywood and surely ranks top in Rafi Mecartin duo’s filmography.
In their next venture, Suresh Gopi and Biju Menon will team up for the upcoming thriller film 'Garudan,' directed by Arun Varma. The expectations are high for the movie as it is scripted by the ‘Anjaam Pathiraa’ fame Midhun Manuel Thomas. ‘Garudan’ is all set to release in November.
