Dhyan Sreenivasan, a popular Mollywood actor and the younger son of renowned Malayalam screenwriter and actor Sreenivasan, candidly shared insights into his strained relationship with his father during a recent media interaction.
Dhyan Sreenivasan, in the MBIFL session, recounted a significant moment when he was in a drunken state and decided to leave home after a heated argument with his father. Sreenivasan then blamed Dhyan for his perceived lack of success and criticized him for the money spent on his upbringing. Dhyan said, “He told me, ‘Put the money I had spent on you, and we can talk after.’
Dhyan revealed that he hadn't seen his father act or write at home for about 15 years. Reflecting on his connection with Thiruvananthapuram, especially Kanakakunnu, he humorously commented, "Kanakakunnu can make you laugh again."
Discussing the importance of money in the film industry, Dhyan noted the shift from paying to watch movies to now receiving payment for his work. He also disclosed that his mother, familiar only with Sreenivasan's movies, remains oblivious to Dhyan's films. Despite his father's tirade against Mohanlal, Dhyan expressed discontent with the unnecessary criticism, emphasising the need for calm discussions.
Meanwhile, Dhyan further expressed his true passion for becoming a technician in the film industry.
On the work front, Dhyan Sreenivasan has the most-awaited Vineeth Sreenivasan starrer ‘Varshangalkku Shesham', which will be released on April 14 this year.
