Dhanush gushes on joining Mammootty for Rajkumar Periasamy’s next, 'D55' calling it 'an absolute honour, Sir'

Actor Dhanush is all excited to team up with the Malayalam superstar Mammootty for the upcoming project which is tentatively titled '#D55'.

Mammootty had made the announcement earlier by sharing a Tweet that read, “Elated and excited to be a part of this journey with @dhanushkraja and @Rajkumar_KP (smiley).”



Dhanush quickly went to his X page and replied with simple and warm words. He wrote, “An absolute honour sir (folded hands).”

Fans celebrate the big team-up

Fans of both stars started filling the comments with excitement. Many fans said how they could not wait for the movie. One person wrote, “Good combo.” Another fan wrote, “This announcement in itself is a cinematic event.”

Director welcomes Mammootty on board

The director of the film, Rajkumar Periasamy, also shared his excitement. He wrote a long and warm message on his X page when he welcomed Mammootty. He said, “Dear @mammukka, the day you said ‘Yes’ I knew the almighty has blessed #D55 with Divinity. I’m honoured and ecstatic to welcome you, our very own #Mammootty sir on board for the film! One of the production houses behind the film also welcomed Mammootty warmly. They wrote, “When the Big M chooses a story, it becomes history. Super excited to welcome Megastar @mammukka onboard #D55! We are honoured! Thank you #Mammootty sir.” The film will also have Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela in pivotal roles.

Sai Abhyankkar, who is also part of the film team, replied to the production house with a very happy message. He wrote, “Super excited and pumped working with @dhanushkraja sir on #D55!
