Nee-Na actress Deepti Sati is an ardent animal lover. Not only has she adopted a few stray dogs around her apartment complex in Mumbai, she also plans to join the PETA in the future to take her animal love to the next level. Speaking of her ‘adopted’ pets in Mumbai, she says, “We don’t have the space to keep pets in Mumbai and my mom is allergic to pets as well.
However, I consider a few dogs in the area my own. There is Bruno, Cookie, Juliet and then batches of tiny puppies. I feed them and give them baths. They will accompany me to the lift every time and make sure I am safe. The entire colony knows them.”
Deepti, who is currently shooting in Kerala for
Nee-Na, points out that there are very few stray animals in the streets here. “In Mumbai and any other Indian city you go to, you will see plenty of dogs and cats on the streets. I would immediately make friends with a few and start playing with them. But I hardly see any in Kerala, which is sad,” she says.
Deepti’s wish is to own a resort where she can keep all kinds of animals. “I wish to promote adopting instead of buying and do something for the strays.”
