Chingam 1: Highly anticipated movie announcements to be made in Kerala New Year 2022

According to the Malayalam calendar, Chingam 1 is the start of a year, and several Malayalis consider the day a special one and regarded as a perfect one for marking new beginnings such as starting a business venture or even buying household items. This year’s Chingam 1 has all the right reasons for a movie buff to be excited as there are several highly anticipated announcements from the Mollywood industry on August 17 this year. After the Mohanlal starrer ‘Aaraattu’, the renowned director B Unnikrishnan is all set to team up with the Mollywood legendary actor Mammootty for an investigation thriller. Mammootty took to his official Facebook handle to announce that the title and the first look poster for B Unnikrishnan’s directorial film will be announced on August 17 at 6 pm. Actors Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sneha, Amala Paul, Jinu Joseph, Vinay Rai, and Dileesh Pothan will be playing significant roles in the film. During an exclusive interview with ETimes, the ‘Hridayam’ fame Kalesh Ramanand said that he will be playing a significant role in the movie.

After the superhit film ‘Rama Leela’, Malayalam actor Dileep is teaming up again with the director Arun Gopy for an untitled project. According to the reports, an official announcement for the same will be made on Chingam 1. The reports also say that the film will mark the Malayalam debut of the Tamil superstar Tamannaah Bhatia. Dileep - Arun Gopy project is reportedly mounted on a huge budget.

This is indeed one of the most highly anticipated announcements to be made on Chingam 1 and if the reports are to be believed, there will be more than one update regarding Mohanlal’s upcoming movie that will be announced on Kerala New Year 2022. Strong rumors suggest that Jeethu Joseph will be announcing the third part of ‘Drishyam’. According to the reports, an official update regarding Mohanlal’s upcoming movies Empuraan’, ‘Barroz’, and Akhil Sathyan project will be announced on the same day.

After the success of the Telugu romantic drama film ‘Sita Ramam’, Dulquer Salmaan is returning to the Malayalam film industry with a handful of highly anticipated projects. Reportedly, Dulquer Salmaan will be announcing his next with the debutant director Praveen Chandran on Chingam 1 and the movie is touted as a complete entertainer. Sources also say that the film which is reportedly titled ‘Vilasini Memorial’, scripted by ‘Kunjiramayanam’ fame Deepu Pradeep, will start rolling in Kannur, Kerala.

Mollywood youth icon Unni Mukundan will be teaming up with the ‘Pulimurugan’ fame Vysakh for an upcoming movie which is touted as an action entertainer and is mounted on a large scale. The film is scripted by Udaykrishna and is titled ‘Bruce Lee’. Reportedly, Another Unni Mukundan - Vysakh project is on cards and reportedly it will be also announced on the occasion of Chingam 1. Meanwhile, Unni Mukundan’s previous outing was ‘Meppadiyan’ and the film gained much appreciation from the audience.

Mollywood actor Nivin Pauly has joined hands with the ‘Salute’ director Rosshan Andrrews and the film is titled ‘Saturday Night’. Actress Saniya Iyappan will be playing a major role in the film and according to the reports, the film is planning for a theatrical release on September 30 this year. An official update about Nivin Pauly’s ‘Saturday Night’ is also expected to be revealed by the makers on August 17.
