Veterans filmmakers KG George,
Joshiy, and scriptwriter John Paul are putting their weight behind Chalachitra Malayalam, which aims to mentor new talents in the field. The association aims to support 12 young aspiring filmmakers in its first phase.
John Paul was his usual self, sharing stories from the old days, at the inaugural function. He spoke about how filmmakers got together and helped sort out the bottlenecks in each other’s stories. “There was a feeling that this is our industry. That feeling is now missing, but this new association aims to bring back that,” said the scriptwriter of classics from the 1980s and 90s such as Chamaram, Ormakkayi and Malootty.
