After a long gap, the iconic Sethurama Iyer has made his fifth entry into the hearts of every Malayali audience with the recently released fifth installment of the
CBI franchise titled ‘CBI 5: The Brain’. As the film is running successfully in the theatres, the veteran actor
Mammootty, during the promotional event of ‘CBI 5’, opened up on a potential sixth installment for the CBI franchise.
During the promotional function, Mammootty said that he has been asking the director K Madhu and writer SN Swamy to give a new twist to the CBI franchise by giving a break for the character Sethurama Iyer from investigating murder cases specifically.
Mammootty added that he has also asked K Madhu to make Sethurama Iyer investigate some cases related to a scam or even a massive robbery case. Mammootty further hinted at a potential sixth installment of the CBI series by saying that he really hopes ‘CBI 6’ would be dealing with such type of content. The actor also reportedly said that the team hasn't even thought of a sixth installment as of now.
Earlier, in an interview with an online media channel, the director K Madhu spilled beans on ‘CBI 6’ as he said that a further installment to the CBI franchise may depend upon the success of ‘CBI 5: The Brain’. The fifth installment of the CBI franchise also ends with a hint on a further installment.
‘CBI 5: The Brain’, which was released on May 1, has minted over 4.45 crores reportedly on the first day itself. The collections are expected to soar up in the coming weekends as the film has found its liking among the family audience.
Scripted by SN Swamy, ‘CBI 5: The Brain’ also has the previous casts Mukesh, Saikumar, and Jagathy Sreekumar in pivotal roles. Some of the additional cast in the film include Dileesh Pothan,
