It’s only been a little more than 10 days since the tragic plane crash at Karipur International Airport of Kerala, which killed 16 passengers and two pilots of a flight from Dubai to Kozhikode.
Now, a Malayalam movie is announced based on the incident, and it is titled ‘Calicut Express.’ The movie is to be directed by Maya, and it has
Majeed Maranchery writing its dialogue and script.
Reportedly, the incident would be re-created on the big screen with latest technology and it would also star top actors of Mollywood, alongside many newbies.
The Air India Express flight, which was to land at Karipur on August 7, was scheduled as part of the Vande Bharat Mission of the government of India, aiming to repatriate Indian citizens who are stranded abroad during the Covid – 19 pandemic. Initial reports suggested that the flight skidded off its run way of the table top airport, post which it fell into a gorge, killing the passengers and pilots. The investigation is still on, regarding the crash.
The incident also saw the natives of Malappuram coming together in no time to help the passengers and cabin crew who survived, by taking them to hospitals in their private vehicles, offering blood and even arranging food for passengers who had their flights delayed due to the incident. And this was also at a time in which the area was a containment zone. The local people were lauded by many for their quick response and help, without fearing the pandemic.
