December 16, 2020 marked 15 years since the release of director Blessy’s
Thanmathra
, which had
Mohanlal playing an Alzhemier’s patient. The role is regarded as one of the best performances by the superstar in his career and there are reports of director
Blessy and Mohanlal teaming up again, 9 year after their film Pranayam.
When we contacted Blessy, the filmmaker told us, “I believe the rumour originated from a producer’s comment. As far as Mohanlal or I am concerned, we have discussed several projects but we haven’t finalised anything to announce.”
The filmmaker, however, says that he was in touch with Mohanlal today. “Thanmathra completed 15 years today and I am happy about it. I spoke to Mohanlal in the morning,” he says.
Ask Blessy if he will be doing his next project only after he completes
Aadujeevitham
and he says, “Again, I can’t say that. My way of working is a bit different but right now my priority is to complete Aadujeevitham. Malayalam film industry is blessed with talented artistes including Mammootty, Mohanlal and several others, and to do a movie with them is a dream for any filmmaker.”
Blessy was shooting for Aadujeevitham, which has Prithviraj playing the lead character earlier this year in Jordan when the pandemic lockdown was announced. The team wrapped up their Jordan schedule and had returned to Kerala in May. Aadujeevitham’s next schedule, which is currently planned in Algeria, is expected to resume next year once the team gets permission from the country amid the pandemic.
