National award-winning filmmaker Blessy entered the film industry as a teenager. He began assisting the iconic filmmaker P Padmarajan at the age of 18. The star, who is currently basking in the success of his latest survival drama ‘Aadujeevitham’, opened up about his early days in cinema and revealed the person he considered as his 'guru'.

In an interview with The New Indian Express, Blessy said, “No doubt, it’s Padmarajan sir…”

Elaborating on his desire to make his guru proud of his work, he shared, “I experience his presence a lot during shoots. When we plan a project, before starting its shooting, the prayer in my mind is that the film shouldn’t turn out to be an embarrassment for ‘sir’ (Padmarajan) in my capacity as his disciple."

Blessy also shared that ‘Oridathoru Phayalvaan’ is his favourite film of Padmarajan. He stated that "Assisting Padmarajan was a matter of immense pride."

He also recalled working with AK Lohithadas and Jayaraj among others.
