‘Barroz’: Makers share an update on Mohanlal’s maiden directorial venture

Sharing a location click of Mohanlal from the ‘Barroz’ sets, via their official Facebook handle, the makers penned a note that read, “‘Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure’ - Shoot progressing in Cochin.” The location click was taken by the director Aneesh Upasana who is best known for helming the films ‘Matinee’, ‘Seconds’ and ‘Popcorn’.

The shoot for the film was kickstarted last year, but due to the Covid outbreak the shoot was temporarily stopped and as a result, several of the actors backed out from the project due to date clashes and other reasons. Several portions of the film which was shot earlier also needed to be re-shot as said by Mohanlal in an interview with online media.

One such reason would be that the renowned director- cinematographer Santosh Sivan will be cranking the lens for the film and the next reason is that the script of the film is penned down by Jijo Punnoose who is best known for India’s first 3D film ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’ which was released in the year 1984.
