Asmita Sood on a roll

Asmita Sood, who is paired opposite Sudheer Babu in his next, exudes confidence about her character. “I play Indu, a bubbly and chirpy college-goer in the film. The entire college falls for me, but I’m being guarded by my brother who is my senior. My character takes a different turn after the hero enters my life and the director scripted my character very well,” she says.
The former Femina Miss India finalist (2011) made her Tollywood debut with Brammigadi Katha, followed by a couple of Telugu movies and a Kannada film, before signing her Malayalam debut, 5 Sundarikal. Ask the actress whether picking up the language in South has been a barrier and she says, “I’ve begun to understand the southern industry and I’m also learning the languages slowly. As a result, I could excel in my character and my performance was widely appreciated in my Malayalam debut.”
Asmita, who hails from Himachal Pradesh, has three films in her kitty and will be seen as a cop in her forthcoming Telugu film Aa Aaiduguru.
