Arun Kurian: It was a dream to work with Sameer Thahir

Arun Kurian was part of two hit films this year –

Thamaasha

and Oru Yamandan Premakatha. While the films had him small roles, his characters didn’t fail to go noticed. And in fact, through the movies, he also accomplished several goals.

“It was my dream to work with Sameer (Thahir) ikka, who had co-produced Thamaasha. I was in Class 11 when

Big B

released and it was huge trend among youngsters back then. I have always loved movies but I started exploring its technical aspects only because of Sameer ikka’s cinematography in the film,” he says. “After Aanandam, I got Sameerikka’s contact and told him I would love to work with him. I would follow up every six months and I was fortunate to get to be part of this film. Also, Thamaasha was an organic movie. The cast didn’t even have make-up. Also, the working style of Sameerikka, Shyju Khalid and (director) Ashraf (Hamza) ikka are very rooted and that reflects in the film as well.”

The actor, meanwhile, says it was a fanboy moment for him working with Dulquer Salmaan in Oru Yamandan Premakatha.
