‘Ariyippu’ trailer: Mahesh Narayanan to present an intense realistic drama
After ‘Take Off’ filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan is reuniting with actor Kunchacko Boban for ‘Ariyippu’. Featuring Kunchacko Boban and Divya Prabha in the lead roles, ‘Ariyippu’ is set in New Delhi. The film follows a married couple - Hareesh and Reshmi, living on the outskirts of New Delhi, and working at a medical gloves factory, hoping to migrate out of the country for a better life. However, their lives are upended when a mysterious video which points at Reshmi surfaces among the workers in the factory. The film is scheduled for direct-to-digital release on December 16, and ahead of it, the makers launched a trailer.
Going by the trailer, the realistic drama looks intense and thrilling at the same time, and needless to say, the lead actors Kunchacko Boban and Divya Prabha have given laudable performances.
“Ningal kaathirunna Ariyippumaayi tha njangal ethi! ,” the OTT platform said, launching the trailer and also announcing the release date.

‘Ariyippu’ was screened in the Busan International Film Festival in the Asian Premiere category, and interestingly, the Mahesh Narayanan directorial also becomes the Malayalam film to be selected at the prestigious festival. The film was also selected at the Locarno International Film Festival and happens to be the first Indian film to be screened in the past 17 years. ‘Ariyippu’ was premiered at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) this year, and the film will also compete in the International Competition section for the 27th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), which is set to open on Friday (Dec 9).
