Starring Tovino Thomas, Rima Kallingal, Roshan Mathew, and Shine Tom Chacko in the lead roles, ‘Neelavelicham’ is also a remake of the 1964 film ‘Bhargavi Nilayam’, by A Vincent, which is regarded as Malayalam cinema’s first horror thriller.

‘Neelavelicham’ hit the big screens on Thursday (Apr 20), and is receiving decent reports. Actress Archana Kavi happened to watch the film on the first day itself, and looks like she absolutely enjoyed the film. In her Instagram story, Archana Kavi lauded the film, and also her ‘Neelathamara’ co-star Rima Kallingal, who plays Bhargavi in ‘Neelavelicham’.
“It took me a day to process @neelavelichammovie I haven't read or watched the previous film so went with no reference. Absolutely loved seeing @rimakallingal back on big screen. Bhargavi Kutty's introduction scene is still haunting me. @aashiqabu if you ever attempt a full fledged horror, I'm sorry to say I wont be watching it. I don't think I'll come out alive. This film has a few jump scares and goosebumps moments but it isn't a complete horror film,” Archana Kavi said.

She also lauuded cinematographer Girish Gangadharan for the breathtaking visuals. “I don't know what @girishgangadharan is eating, breathing or living on.... each frame was an art plus the sound design was great too. @tovinothomas role wasn't an easy one. Keeping the audience hooked by just his presence and talking to a void isn't as simple as we think. He has done a great job. The film had some old fashioned romantic dialogues which could have easily gone cringy but my man @roshan.matthew handled it like a pro. The music, art everything about it is definitely worth a theatre watch. Thanks for the experience team!” she said.
