Aparna Gopinath performs stunts

Aparna Gopinath is shedding her geeky avatar for the upcoming film Onnam Loka Mahayudham. The actress, who has been cast opposite Tovino Thomas in the film, reportedly performed stunts without a body double. A source tells us that the actress did the action sequences all by herself and even got hurt during the shoot.
Its director Varun says, “While using a rope in an action sequence, Aparna’s hands suffered a minor injury.Despite the swelling and pain, she continued the shoot as she didn’t want to disrupt the film schedule.” Aparna plays ACP Thara in the film and will sport a new look. “Stunt Master Run Ravi and the onlookers were quite surprised seeing Aparna’s timing and perfection while shooting the stunt scenes. We are not portraying any larger than life image and even the stunt sequences are quite real,” says the director.
Varun adds that Onnam Loka Mahayudham has an unconventional way of storytelling. “All the characters have some negative trait or the other in the film, and that makes them more real.” While Tovino Thomas plays a doctor, Chemban Vinod will be seen as a goon based out of Kochi. The music is by Govind Menon. The movie is all set to go on floors in February.
