‘Anweshippin Kandethum’ final box office collections: Tovino Thomas starrer falls short despite good reviews

Despite garnering critical acclaim for its compelling narrative and stellar performances, Tovino Thomas' latest venture, 'Anweshippin Kandethum,' fails to make a significant mark at the box office following its OTT release.

The investigative drama, directed by Darwin Kuriakose, revolves around two major crimes that rocked Kerala, delving into the subsequent inquiries conducted by the Special Operations Police (SOP). With Tovino Thomas leading the cast alongside seasoned actors like Indrans, Siddique, Shammi Thilakan, and others, the film promised a gripping cinematic experience.

However, as per reports from the Kerala box office Twitter forum, the final worldwide gross collection paints a less-than-impressive picture for the film.

With collections amounting to approximately Rs10.25 crore in Kerala, Rs 5.2 crore overseas, and Rs 1.55 crore in the Rest of India (ROI), the grand total stands at around Rs 17 crore. Despite the positive response from critics and audiences alike, the verdict for 'Anweshippin Kandethum' is deemed average.

Released on February 9, 2024, the film received praise for its intricate storytelling, remarkable performances, captivating soundtrack, and meticulous direction and production design. However, it seems that 'Anweshippin Kandethum"'faced tough competition from other releases during its run, notably 'Premalu,' 'Manjummel Boys,' and 'Bramayugam,' which overshadowed its box office performance.
