It was during a recent film event that Anusree surprised one and all with her new look — a far cry from her usual traditional avatar. The actress, who made a promising debut as KalamandalamRajasree in Lal Jose’s Diamond Necklace, is excited about her chic look in Arun Kumar Aravind’sVedivazhipadu, directed by debutantShambu. Anusree has essayed mostly village belle roles, including those in Salam Bappu’s Mohanlal-starrer and Arun Kumar Aravind’s Left Right Left.
“In
Left Right Left, I play a rural character who goes through a series of struggles. However, in
Vedivazhipadu, I play an entirely different role — as a smart and hep television anchor,” she says.
Anusree had to chop off her thick, long and wavy black locks to look the part. “Arun and Shambu Sir asked me to cut my hair and colour it as well, which I did with a heavy heart. It took me a while to get used to the new look,” she says.
However, the actress is quick to add that though she regretted it initially, she’s happy now. “I’m getting a lot of compliments as well,” she says.
Interestingly, she received her first movie offer from Arun Kumar Aravind, who spotted her in a reality show. “Unfortunately, I could not take it up then. Now I’m doing two of his projects,” she beams.
Anusree started the shoot for
Vedivazhipadu a few weeks back. Indrajith,
Murali Gopy,
Saiju Kurup,
Mythili and Anumol also play prominent roles in the film.
