Antony Varghese Pepe starrer Malayalam film ‘Kattalan’ is gearing up for release. The makers have finally announced the release date, and it looks like you don’t really have to wait that long!

‘Kattalan’ to hit the big screens soon

Antony Varghese, best known for his role in ‘Angamaly Diaries’ and ‘Jallikattu’ is headlining ‘Kattalan’. The makers have confirmed that the film will hit the big screens worldwide on May 14. Yes, that’s right. “The hunt has a date. KATTALAN storms theatres worldwide on May 14, 2026,” the makers said in a post shared on Instagram.





The film is directed by debutant Paul George.

The team recently wrapped up the Vagamon schedule of the film. The teaser of the film will arrive this Friday, January 16. In a collaborative post shared on Instagram earlier this week, Antony Varghese shared a sneak peek from the edit suite. “From the edit room to the wild. KATTALAN is taking shape. The hunt begins. KATTALAN TEASER INCOMING JAN 16, 2026!” the caption read.

All about ‘Kattalan’

‘Kattalan’ is one of the most anticipated upcoming films in Mollywood. The film is set against the backdrop of ivory smuggling. The first look poster of the film showcased the fierce look of actor Antony Varghese. The film is billed as a high-octane actioner. Actors Dushara Vijayan, Sunil, Kabir Duhan Singh, Jagadish, Siddique, Anson Paul, Raj Tirandasu, rapper Baby Jean, Hipster, singer Hanan Shaah, Parth Tiwari, and Shibin S Raghav are part of the cast.

The film is jointly scripted by the director Paul, Joby Varghese, and Jero Jacob. The dialogues for the film are crafted by Unni R.

On the technical side, the cinematography is handled by Renadive, and Shammer Muhammed is the editor. The music for the film will be composed by ‘Kantara’ fame B Ajaneesh Loknath. The action choreography is done by Kecha Khamphakdee, who is known for films such as ‘Ong-Bak 2’, ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’, and ‘Jawan’.
