Now coming to Malayalam films, you could say that the most successful producer Antony Perumbavoor is the one who has done a majority of cameo roles, especially in Mohanlal’s films. Recently in the trailer of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s second directorial venture ‘Bro Daddy’, we are shown a glimpse of Antony Perumbavoor essaying the role of a police officer. Lucifer

Antony Perumbavoor is considered a lucky charm for the actor Mohanlal and his movies as most of his films where Antony Perumbavoor has played cameos were humongous hits. The debut directorial venture of Prithviraj Sukumaran, ‘Lucifer’, is no exception. In ‘Lucifer’, Antony Perumbavoor just appears for less than 10 seconds during the climax item dance scene as an untitled character. Antony Perumbavoor’s character gives ‘Salaam’ to Mohanlal’s character Stephen Nedumpally, denoting that Stephen is his master and an underworld don with a mysterious past. The film ‘Lucifer’ was a huge hit during that time

Drishyam 2

Another film that proves that Antony Perumbavoor is a real luck charm is ‘Drishyam 2’ which was directed by Jeethu Joseph. Antony Perumbavoor plays a sub-inspector character named Antony and has a comparatively lengthy cameo role to play in the movie. The character was a continuation to the first part of the film and Drishyam 2 was released via the OTT platform receiving much positive response from the audience.

Pulimurugan

Antony Perumbavoor played the cameo role of a Jeep driver in the action film ‘Pulimurugan’ starring actor Mohanlal in the lead. The film was released in the year 2016 and was directed by Vysakh under the script penned down by the writer Udayakrishna. Actors Kamalinee Mukherjee, Namitha, Jagapathi Babu, Suraj Venjaramoodu played major roles in the movie.

Bro Daddy

Recently when the trailer for Prithviraj’s second directorial comedy entertainer film ‘Bro Daddy’ was released, it was Antony Perumbavoor’s cameo role that got wide attention among the netizens. From the looks of the trailer, Antony Perumbavoor will be playing a police inspector role in the movie and will be having much more screen time compared to his previous films. Previously, during the shoot of ‘Bro Daddy’, a BTS picture of Antony Perumbavoor dressed in a Police uniform went viral on social media.

Chandralekha

During the year 1997, nobody noticed Antony Perumbavoor’s cameo role in the comedy entertainer film ‘Chandralekha’. But as time passed, majorly due to the advent of the internet and the popularity of social media, People started noticing Antony Perumbavoor’s cameo role in ‘Chandralekha’ as company staff. Antony Perumbavoor appears in the song ‘Chinnamma Adi’ in the mystery-thriller film ‘Oppam’ starring Mohanlal in the lead. Antony Perumbavoor is shown only for a few seconds in the last portions of the song as a random boat passenger who walks past Mohanlal’s character Jayaraman who is blind. The film ‘Oppam’ was written and directed by Priyadarshan.

Marakkar Arabikkadalinte Simham

In the recently released periodic drama movie ‘Marakkar Arabikkadalinte Simham’, Antony Perumbavoor plays a cameo role as a shopkeeper. Antony Perumbavoor’s cameo appearance was also shown in the teaser of ‘Marakkar Arabikkadalinte Simham’. The film had Mohanlal essaying the pivotal role ‘Marakkar’ and was directed by Priyadarshan.
