The
lockdown
had a lot of people spending time with their family and hence also bonding well their parents. The same was the case of
Varane Avashyamund
director
Anoop Sathyan and his dad and filmmaker
Sathyan Anthikad.
Anoop even helped his father with his first video conferencing call. The lockdown was special for filmmaker Anoop Sathyan as he spent a lot of time with his dad and director Sathyan Anthikad at home, and even helped him with the latter’s first video conferencing call. “It was the first time my father was doing a video conferencing call and that too with
KK Shailaja
teacher. As soon as she came on screen, I could see his face light up. He was amazed and the first thing he said was, ‘We can see everybody’. He keeps telling us that everything and everyone keeps progressing, but now is when he has begun to understand more about technology,” says Anoop.
The duo also watch movies on OTT platforms together now. "Achan doesn't follow Hindi cinema much, but now when new movies release on OTT, I make wait for him to be free so we can watch together. We watched both Thappad and Gulabo Sitabo like that."
Anoop, meanwhile, also says that he and his dad now exchange stories and his "story bank is now updated", thanks to the interactions.
