Lal Jose seems to have reserved varied characters for
Anoop Menon in his films. After casting him in a negative character in Vikramadityan, the filmmaker has now entrusted the actor with a role that is different from the usual cosmopolitan roles that he has done in his career.
“I play a desi mechanic named Bullet Viswan in
Vellipadinte Pusthakam
,” says Anoop Menon. “My character has two to three getups in the film as the story spans over a period of time.”
One of the appearances has him sporting a balding look with a long moustache à la
Surya in the
Singam
movies. However, the actor says, “Contrary to my look in the film, it’s a positive character. I can’t reveal more about the role because it forms the crux of the film.”
On choosing the character, Anoop says, “Lal Jose tells me that when I’m working in his films, he wants me to do characters that don’t even have an ounce of Anoop Menon in it. I am lucky that he chooses to offer me roles that aren’t the quintessential ones that one expects from me.”
The actor has started shooting for the film, which has
Mohanlal in the lead, in Trivandrum. The movie has Anna Rajan of Angamaly Diaries fame as the female protagonist.
