After their successful pairing as the perfect couple in Trivandrum Lodge, Anoop Menon and Bhavana will be seen as a troubled pair in Saji Surendran’s upcoming comedy, Angry Birds.
The film, which will start its shoot from May 25 in Mumbai, will see Saji and Anoop unite for a full length feature film for the first time. The duo had worked in several television shows during their initial careers, including December Mist, and Anoop had done a cameo in Saji’s debut movie, Ivar Vivahitharayal.

On the story of the film, which is based on Anoop’s idea, Saji says, “It’s about a couple who are in love and elope to Mumbai from Kerala. Soon, they find out that real life isn’t as sweet or fun as when they are in love, and the compatibility issues between them form the rest of the movie.”
Saji informs us that it’s a full-length comedy movie, which will see Anoop handling such a role for the first time. The dialogues and screenplay are by Krishna Poojappura.
Incidentally, this is the first time that the director-scribe duo is working on a film without Jayasurya, with whom they have done five films on the trot.
“We were in discussions for a sixth film with Jayasurya, titled Partner, during the end of last year and had even started with the pre-production work. However, since Jayasurya had already committed to other projects, we had to halt work on it for the moment,” explains Saji.
