Anna Rajan: Most satisfying thing as a nurse is to see patients healing

Anna Rajan was a nurse before she made her debut with Angamali Diaries in 2017. Talking to us this Nurses day, Anna says, while she is not nostalgic about her time as a nurse, the most satisfying thing about the profession is seeing a patient you have cared for returning healed.


"It's a different kind of feeling. Often patients would tell me that my smile makes them happy. I don’t get nostalgic about it, because caregiving is part of everyday life. Even at home or on set, people often turn to me. I will contact my doctor friends and sort out the situation," says Anna.


About working in the emergency unit, she says, "It was hectic. If it's a long shift, we will be occupied throughout, toilet and meal breaks excluded." She is also not hesitant to admit that she chose nursing because a lot of people at that time were doing it. "I won't lie, I thought it's a profession that can secure my future. Also, I didn't want to study maths. But in the end, I needed a lot of practical maths to get the correct dosage of medicines," says Anna.


Anna was on a small break from movies because of an illness. The treatment is almost complete and she has signed a few projects now. Apart from a Tamil movie Pluto, she has Shalabha and Kudumbashreeyum Kunjaadum in Malayalam.
