Ann Maria Kalippilaanu was the third directorial of filmmaker Midhun Manuel Thomas, who debuted as director through ‘Aadu’ in 2015.
On the fourth anniversary of the film’s release, its team seems quite thrilled. Midhun wrote on his page, ‘August 5! It is the day on which my most favourite film was released. Even now, Ann Maria, Poombatta Girish, Maalakha, Ambrose, Suku, Perumkudi Baby and the like remain as colourful memories in my mind.’
‘Ann Maria Kalippilaanu’ was a children’s movie, and it had ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ fame
Sara Arjun playing the protagonist character Anna Maria.
The movie was written by John Manthrichal and Thomas, and also starred
Sunny Wayne, Aju Varghese, Shine Tom Chacko, Saiju Kurup, Siddique, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Leona Lishoy, John Kaippallil, Biju Kuttan and Anjali Nair in major roles. It also had an interesting cameo by
Dulquer Salmaan, who played the character of an angel, who appears as a photographer.
The film was also dubbed into Telugu in the same year, in the title ‘Pilla Rakshashi.’ Its story delves on the friendship of a schoolgirl named Sara, and a youngster played by Sunny Wayne.
