Anikha Surendran: ‘Oh My Darling’ does not glamourize the consumption of alcohol - EXCLUSIVE!

Anikha Surendran and Melvin G Babu starrer ‘Oh My Darling’ directed by Alfred D Samuel is hitting the big screens this Friday (Feb 24). The teaser and trailer of the film managed to create a decent buzz for the film, however, the alcohol consumption by the lead actors didn’t appeal to a section of the audience. In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, Anikha Surendran shares that ‘Oh My Darling’ does not glorify alcohol consumption in any manner.

Anikha Surendran emphasizes that though there are scenes of the lead actors consuming alcohol, the act isn’t glorified in ‘Oh My Darling’, “There are consequences to what the characters are doing, which you will understand, once you watch the film. We are not glamourizing the consumption of alcohol.”

Anikha Surendran also spoke about working with seasoned actors like Mukesh, and Lena, who are playing her parents in the upcoming film.

“This is my third movie with Lena aunty. We did ‘Johny Johny Yes Appa’, wherein she played my on-screen mother, and also another Tamil movie. We are like friends and have that rapport. Lena aunty and I already had that connection. I am working with Mukesh uncle for the first time. It was very cool acting with him. He tells us stories. He is a fun person to be around,” Anikha Surendran shared.
