Aneesh G Menon plays young Maoist in Badal
The year seems to have got off to a good start for young actor Aneesh G Menon. He is paired with Shwetha Menon in
His new projects include his turn as a Maoist in Badal. “Director Ajayan narrated the story of the young, reserved Maoist from Karnataka who helps Kanimozhi, played by Shwetha Menon. Kanimozhi is a powerful woman and my character, who is 27, falls in love with her, though she is much older than him. I felt it was a different and exceptional character,” says Aneesh. Gayathri Suresh also plays an important character in the film.
For Aneesh, the ten years as an actor was a journey of hard work. “I gained a good circle of friends and am constantly learning more about cinema,” he says. Does he have any particular role he would like to play? “I would love to play villain characters, but unfortunately I haven’t been given one yet,” he says.
Aneesh also has Mahi, director Jayaram Kailas’ Pappu which also features Gokul Suresh, Binary and Nerchapoovan coming up. “I play the lead in Mahi, with Gayathri Suresh paired opposite me. It’s a romcom and also features Hareesh Kanaran, Navas Vallikunnu and Althaf. Actor Shaheen Siddique plays the antagonist in it.”
Joy Mathew, Navas Vallikunnu and Aneesh play the lead in Binary. The film is a thriller which looks at pilfering in the banking sector. Nerchapoovan, directed by Manaf Muhammed, is a rural story about a cock which is to be killed. “The cock and the hero go through similar emotions and how each copes with their situation forms the crux of the movie. I play a character named Johny," he says.
Badal
