Amritha Suresh makes shocking revelations of domestic abuse from ex-husband Bala: ‘I’m still undergoing treatment’

Singer Amritha Suresh has made shocking revelations about the domestic abuse she endured during her marriage with ex-husband actor Bala. The singer has reacted, after her daughter Avantika received cyberbullying, due to a video the child posted on social media, detailing about the ‘mental and physical torture’ from dad Bala.

On Friday, September 27, morning, Amritha posted a video on social media asking netizens to stop the cyberbullying against her daughter. “I remained silent for so long, but I'm speaking up now for my daughter. Today, my daughter has grown; she understands everything. That’s why she recorded a video herself. I didn’t know what she would say. After my daughter released the video, Bala also posted a video. It was in a manner that subjected my child to more cyberbullying. Many commented with derogatory words like ‘fool’ and ‘arrogant.’ I cannot tolerate that at all. I can clarify some points from what my daughter said. The main allegation is that I brainwashed her. Bala stated in an interview that when he was bedridden in the hospital, my daughter asked him to buy her a laptop. When she saw that, she asked me why her father was lying like that,” Amritha Suresh said.

Amritha recounted about the mental challenges being inflicted on her daughter due to the badmouthing by Bala, “When my daughter goes to school, many would ask about the problems at home. Once a classmate asked if her father had told her that her mother is bad. That day, my daughter came home crying.”

The singer also recounted the days of her marriage with Bala, when she was subjected to domestic abuse, and yet stayed silent, “What wrong have I done? At eighteen, I fell in love for the first time and married him (Bala). I lay bleeding in that house for many days after that. I was scared to tell my family because my father and mother were against this marriage. I was married under many false pretenses. Bala had married someone else before marrying me; I only learned about that after our engagement. Even then, my parents told me to back out of the wedding, but I didn’t agree. I was blindly in love.”

Amritha stated that she walked out of the marriage the day it started to affect her daughter, “When the abuse started to affect my daughter, I ran away from that house. I didn’t leave with a fortune. I had asked for compensation, but after he forcefully took my daughter away, I said I wanted nothing. While Bala was in the hospital, everyone prayed for him. But I am still undergoing treatment. The trauma from that beating was significant. I underwent treatment several times due to internal bleeding. I’m still undergoing treatment to remove the scars from my body. Somehow, I have to survive.”

Amritha also opened up about her brief relationship with musician Gopi Sundar, after the divorce, “After fourteen years, I fell into a romantic relationship. For the first time in many years, I felt loved. I thought it would go well, but when it seemed it wouldn’t progress, we mutually decided to part ways.”

For the unversed, on Thursday (Sep 26), Bala and his ex-wife Amritha’s daughter Avantika opened up about the ‘mental and physical torture’ she and her mother have faced from Bala. Following this, Bala dropped a video, in which he appeared teary-eyed and said that he won’t bother them thereafter. Prior to this, a video interview of Bala went viral, in which he claimed that Amrutha was alienating his child from him and that his rights as a father were being ignored.
