Mollywood continues to lure B-Town with its unique storytelling and fresh themes. The latest movie that has caught the fancy of Bollywood filmmakers is Lijo Jose Pellissery’s hit film, 'Amen', starring Fahadh Faasil. Apparently, a leading production house from the north has shown interest in buying the rights of the movie, and is currently in talks with the producer of
Amen.
Confirming the news, producer Fareed Khan says, “We are in discussions and within two days we will
seal the final deal.”
Buzz is that Bollywood star
Ranbir Kapoor has been approached for the role played by Fahadh Faasil in the original.
“They want to rope in Ranbir for the role and the actor has apparently agreed to watch the movie,” says Fareed and further adds that the movie will be tweaked to appeal to the Bollywood audience. “Though the story will be almost the same, the setting will be different. They are planning to make the film against a Goan backdrop,” he adds.
Fareed also says that the cast from the original movie will not be a part of the remake version. “Though Lijo was earlier asked to helm the Hindi version, he reportedly declined the offer. Now, they are trying to rope in a popular Bollywood director to helm the project. I can divulge more details only after fixing the final deal,” says Fareed.
The movie is expected to go on floors only next year.
