Malayalam actor cum assistant director Ambika Rao leaves for her heavenly abode on Monday (June 27) at night. Reportedly she suffered from a cardiac arrest. Ambika Rao was 58. Soon after hearing about the demise of the actor, several M-Town celebs have taken to their respective social media handles to pay tributes.
Legendary actor Mammootty took to his Facebook handle to pay tribute to the demise of Ambika Rao who has worked in his films ‘Rajamanikyam’ and ‘Thommanum Makkalum’ and ‘Daddy Cool’ as an assistant director. Sharing a picture of the actor, Mammootty penned a note that read, “ RIP Ambika Rao”.

Director Aashiq Abu paid tributes to Ambika Rao via his official Instagram handle. Ambika Rao has worked as an assistant director for one of his early films ‘Daddy Cool’ starring Mammootty in the lead. She has also acted in Aashiq Abu’s directorial ‘Virus’.
Actors Manju Warrier, Shine Tom Chacko, took to their respective Official social media handles to pay tributes to the ‘Kumbalangi Nights’ actor.
Director Lal Jose shared a picture of Ambika Rao via his official Instagram handle and penned a heartfelt tribute note along with it.
Meanwhile, Ambika Rao has also directed a short film which was titled ‘Smarana’ which was released in the year 2016. The last outing of Ambika Rao was with the social satire movie ‘Paapam Cheyyathavar Kalleriyatte’, where she played a pivotal character.
