Rumours have been rife that director
Amal Neerad and
Mammootty are teaming up for another movie before they start work on
Bilal. However, when we reached out to the filmmaker, he said that nothing has been finalised as yet.
“The pandemic has been a time of uncertainty. So, nothing about my future projects have been finalised yet. I also don’t want to put anybody’s lives at risk considering the situations of the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Amal Neerad.
The filmmaker was set to start the shoot of Bilal, the sequel of Big B, when the pandemic lockdown was announced in March. The team had even the entire sets ready and actor Bala, who will be reprising his role in the sequel, had even done a look test in Fort Kochi days before the movie was set to go on floors. However, the pandemic has delayed the plans for shoot.
Bilal, which has Mammootty in the lead, will have most of the characters from the 2007 superhit, which also marked Amal Neerad’s directorial debut.
Earlier this year, Mamta had told us about how the cast was looking forward to shooting the movie. “I am thoroughly excited. Big B was Amal’s first film and I am sure once we start shooting we are all going to go back to crazy nostalgia. It’s going to be an experience for us to relish at location. We are all looking forward to it and are excited about the new addition to the cast in Bilal,” said the actress.
