Alphonse Puthren claims 'Gold' was deliberately sabotaged in theaters: Not a genuine flop

Alphonse Puthren, the talented director from Mollywood, has fiercely responded to criticisms surrounding his latest film 'Gold,' asserting that the movie's failure was not a result of its quality but a deliberate effort to undermine its success within theaters.

In a recent comment on his Facebook handle, Alphonse Puthren addressed a comment questioning his fixation on the lackluster reception of 'Gold.' He refuted the notion that the film was a genuine flop by stating that it was intentionally sabotaged by certain entities within the industry.

Disputing claims about the movie's failure, Alphonse Puthren highlighted that 'Gold' had generated significant anticipation, as evidenced by accruing a remarkable Rs 40 crore even before its release. He said that 'It's the only Prithviraj film that has earned such a big amount before its release.
However, he alleged that the film's downfall stemmed from deliberate negative publicity and undisclosed revenue misrepresentations, leaving him disillusioned and unsupported.
Expressing dismay over the lack of assistance and honesty in the industry, Alphonse Puthren revealed his absence during the film's promotional phase due to health concerns, assuming that others would shoulder the responsibility. He lamented the mismanagement and insidious efforts to tarnish 'Gold's' prospects solely within the theatrical space, mentioning that 'Someone' tried to defame his film in the theater.
Earlier, Alphonse Puthren expressed frustration towards theater owners, citing their lack of conducive environments for movie reviewers and questioning their support for his projects. He even said that his health was affected by some parties.
