Alleppey Ashraf has requested Mollywood actor
Mohanlal to stop staying silent about the Citizenship Amendment Act. Ashraf penned an open letter to the legendary actor stating the same. In the note, Ashraf requested the actor to break the silence and react against on the act. Ashraf also said that the opinions would be relevant, only if they are expressed at the right time. "As an artist don't you have the moral responsibility to react against
CAA, which divides people in the name of religion?" asked Ashraf. The filmmaker also inquired why a person like Mohanlal, who has always expressed his opinion about various social issues through his blogs, has not spoken a word regarding CAA.

Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Rima Kalllingal, Aashiq Abu, Kunchacko Boban, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and many other prominent artists marked their protest against CAA.
Mohanlal and Alleppey Ashraf have worked together on 1986 release 'Ninnishtam Ennishtam'. On the work front, Mohanlal is currently filming for 'RAM' which is directed by Jeethu Joseph. The movie also features south siren Trisha and Bollywood actor Adil Hussain.
