On his online social media page, Akshay wrote, “You either need a circle of your own, or else you need a godfather. If you don’t have both, it is difficult to grow in Malayalam cinema. If at all there are no reasons, people would try to oust you from the field. But, it is ok, I will have to struggle a bit.”

His followers also made some interesting observations, as comments. While one said, “Nepotism exists not only in Malayalam film industry, but in Bollywood,Tollywood everywhere.
