Aisha Sultana backs Stephy Xavior; alleges that the filmmaker is Geetu Mohandas

for speaking up about the issues she faced from a celebrated lady filmmaker, who is a member of the Women in Cinema Collective (

WCC

). It was yesterday, when the state award-winning costume designer

revealed that a lady filmmaker, whose movies were screened at the International film festival has treated her in an ill manner and didn’t mind to pay her for the work she did, instead removing her from the movie without giving a clear explanation. Aisha Sultana has divulged more details about the recent allegations that Stephy made and revealed that the filmmaker is none other than Geetu Mohandas and the costumer was working for ‘Moothon’.

In a long Facebook post, Aisha recalled the incident of Stephy Xavior calling her over the phone, to know about fashion and trends of Lakshwadweep as the former is a native of the island. “One night Stephy called me and asked me about the dressing style of the people of Lakshadweep and told me that she was working on the movie ‘Moothoon’ directed by Geetu Mohandas. After that, she called me several times to know more about it. I shared everything I knew and also connected her with a few Lakshadweep people by seeing her dedication. My people also helped their team with getting permission to the island. They all arrived, but I couldn't see the dedicated woman Stephy, who used to call me even during night researching about the project,” Aisha Sultana wrote.Sultana also added that her views never matched with that of WCC but decided to support the team as she loves movies. Aisha Sultana also said that she isn’t afraid of the actress that Geetu Mohandas is, referring to the dialogue that Geetu allegedly said to Stephy Xavior ( I stepped into cinema when Stephy was born). She also added that she likes the filmmaker in Geetu Mohandas, but can’t stand with her stands.
