After Siddique, young actress accuses Riyaz Khan of inappropriate advances over the phone

A young actress, who recently accused Siddique of sexual assault, has now leveled new allegations against popular actor Riyaz Khan. The actress claims that Riyaz Khan obtained her phone number from a photographer and then contacted her, allegedly making inappropriate advances over the phone.

In an interview with News 18, the actress stated that Riyaz Khan allegedly asked if she was interested in an intimate physical relationship with him and began making unwanted advances. She further alleged that Khan even inquired if she could introduce him to friends who might be willing to engage with him. Speaking to the media, the actress urged that individuals like Siddique and Riyaz Khan should be banned from the film industry.

Earlier today, veteran Malayalam actor Siddique resigned as the general secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (A.M.M.A.) following sexual assault allegations raised by a woman actor on August 24. "Yes. I have tendered my official resignation to the president of the organisation, Mohanlal. Since there were allegations against me, I have decided not to continue in the post and resigned," Siddique said.

Recently Bengali actress Sreelekha Mitra had accused Malayalam filmmaker Ranjith of misconduct, which led him to step down as the head of the government-run Kerala Chalachitra Academy on Sunday, August 25. "I have been targeted by a certain section of people since the day I took charge as the Chairman of the Academy. I need to prove before the society that the allegations are untrue. I have decided to move legally and bring out the truth. Many people including the media are attacking me without understanding the truth. In this context, I have decided to step down from the post," Ranjith said in an audio statement as he resigned.

The revelations have come in response to the recently released Hema Committee report, which shed light on the sexual harassment, the casting couch, and many other issues that women face in Malayalam cinema.
