Director Jayaraj resonates contentment and pride when he shares his excitement on his film Bhayanakam, winning two awards at the Imagine India Film Festival held in Spain. Jayaraj bagged the Best Adapted Screenplay Award and Renji Panicker won the Best Actor Award at the fest.

The duo is back in Kerala after their ten-day trip. Explaining about his happiness on his best buddy winning the Best Actor award at the International Film Festival, Jayaraj says the film had a very good audience response. "After watching the movie, many thought Renji has a limp in real. The festival director came and asked if he should do a special request to offer disability travel service,"he adds. "Renji truly deserves this award and I am elated that his hard work finally got a reward.



In 2004, Jayaraj's movie Daivanamathil had won the Best Film Award at the same festival. His upcoming film Raudram is expected to release in July.
