Adoor Gopalakrishnan going strong at 75

Malayalam has received a prominent place through the Adoor Gopalakrishnan Film Archive and Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the United States. It is an honour that no Indian director has reportedly received so far. In a career spanning four decades, the renowned director has only done 11 films, but all remain relevant to all times.


The filmmaker, who turned 75 recently, created a mark with his debut film 'Swayamvaram', reportedly the most significant debut Indian cinema since that of Satyajit Ray in 1955, with his 'Pather Panchali'.
