Actress Deepa Thomas criticizes silence of 'Big M's' on Hema Committee report

‘Home’ actress Deepa Thomas has boldly spoken out against the silence of the so-called "Big M’s" of the Malayalam film industry regarding the findings of the Hema Committee report. In a candid post shared on her Instagram stories, Deepa targeted the industry’s superstars, accusing them of ignoring the serious issues highlighted in the report.

In her post, Deepa expressed her frustration, writing, "While the so-called big 'M’s' are totally ignoring this serious matter & supporting the criminals!" Her statement was targeted at the superstars in the Malayalam film industry.

Deepa’s comments come in the wake of director Lijo Jose Pellissery’s recent post, where he emphasized the importance of addressing the issues raised in the Hema Committee report. Pellissery, known for his bold and innovative films, stated, "The statements and complaints that have come before the Hema Committee should be approached with the seriousness they deserve. Firmly believing. Silence is not the solution for this."

Deepa voiced her support for Lijo Jose Pellissery's stance, aligning with his call for action and urging the Malayalam film industry to confront the uncomfortable truths revealed by the committee.

In contrast, Malayalam superstar Suresh Gopi offered a more measured response to the report. While acknowledging the importance of addressing past issues, he emphasized the need to focus on future challenges. "I'm not dismissing the need for reactions to past problems, but it’s crucial to focus on advancing and addressing new challenges as they arise. I’m ready to support this effort if asked," the ‘Garudan’ actor stated.
