Actor Vinayakan arrested for drunken misconduct at hotel, later released on bail

Malayalam actor Vinayakan was arrested on Thursday (May 8) for allegedly creating a public nuisance under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred at a hotel in Anchalummoodu, Kollam, where the actor had been staying since May 2 for a film shoot. According to police, Vinayakan caused a scene during checkout, prompting hotel authorities to alert law enforcement.


Actor Detained for Disorderly Behaviour While Intoxicated

“He was very drunk and was shouting at everyone, even the police,” said an officer from Anchalummoodu police station, as reported by Indian Express. The actor was taken for a medical check-up and then brought to the station, where a case was registered under Section 118(a) of the Kerala Police Act — pertaining to public intoxication. He was later released on station bail after one of his associates provided surety.

Television visuals of the incident surfaced shortly after, showing the actor shouting aggressively at police officers inside the station. The footage further intensified public scrutiny, as many questioned his repeated involvement in controversial incidents. Police confirmed the videos accurately depicted the situation inside the station.


Not The First Time

This is not the first time Vinayakan has been in the spotlight for inappropriate behaviour. The actor has been involved in several controversies and earlier this year, a viral video showed him hurling abuses from his balcony at a neighbour. In the same footage, he was also seen engaging in indecent behaviour by removing his mundu (dhoti), drawing widespread criticism online.

On the work front, Vinayakan was last seen in the comedy drama movie ‘Thekku Vadakku’ which also had Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead. Vinayakan will be next seen in Mammootty’s thriller film ‘Kalamkaval’, where he is playing one of the lead roles.
