Actor Vikraman Nair passes away

Popular actor-playwright Vikraman Nair breathed his last night on Monday, March 27. He was aged 78. According to the reports, Vikraman Nair was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode for some time for an old age-related illness. Vikraman Nair is survived by his wife Lakshmi and kids Durga and Saraswati. Reportedly the funeral function will be held on Wednesday, March 29 at 9 am.

Vikraman Nair was a famous theatre actor who performed on over 10,000 stages and won the State Award for Best Actor in Thikodiyan’s play ‘Mahabharata’. Vikraman Nair has acted in around 200 plays and 53 of them are professional ones.

Hailing from Kunduparamba in Kozhikode, Vikraman Nair pursued his degree from Samothiri Guruvayoorappan College and he also started his own theatre troupe named ‘Stage India’ in the year 1985. He was also a part of the theatre troupe named ‘Sangamam’.

Apart from being a theatre artist, Vikraman Nair has also played several roles in movies and serials.

Meanwhile, it was recently that the veteran actor Innocent breathed his last on March 26 and the entire film industry is mourning over the loss of the actor who breathed life into several memorable roles in Malayalam movies. Several celebs such as Mohanlal, Mammootty, and Suresh Gopi mourned the demise of the legendary actor.
