Actor Ganapathi charged with drunk driving and speeding on Kochi highway

Malayalam actor Ganapathi, known for his role in 'Manjummel Boys,' was stopped by police in Kalamassery, Kerala, for speeding and erratic driving. The actor was reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol and had ignored earlier police signals to stop. He was subsequently released on bail. This incident follows the arrest of another Malayalam actor, Baiju Santhosh, last month for drunk driving and causing an accident. Santhosh later issued a public apology, attributing the accident to a tire burst.

Mollywood actor Ganapathi has stepped into trouble as the Kerala police registered a case against the ‘Manjummel Boys’ actor for drunk driving, disregarding the police instructions.

According to On Manorama, Ganapathi was seen speeding along the National Highway on Sunday, between Kalamassery and Angamaly. Reports say that the police asked him to stop the speeding vehicle at Aluva and Athani, but Ganapathi disobeyed the signals and was speeding. Reportedly the Ernakulam ACP has spotted the actor’s car changing lanes irregularly and speeding past the police vehicle.

Later Ganapathi’s vehicle was stopped for checking at Kalamassery and he was tested for alcohol. During the inspection, it was found out that the ‘Jan.E. Man’ actor was under the influence of alcohol. According to the sources, Ganapathi is now released on bail. The actor is yet to respond to the issue.
Meanwhile, last month the Malayalam actor Baiju Santhosh was arrested by the Thiruvananthapuram City police for allegedly drunk driving and rash driving.

The ‘Nunakkuzhi’ actor was driving from Kowdiar to Manaveeyam Veedhi when he lost control of the vehicle and even hit a two-wheeler. Baiju’s car later crashed into an electric pole. Baiju was booked under section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for rash driving and section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act and 1988 for driving under the influence of alcohol. After being released on bail, Baiju later issued a public apology where he claimed that the accident happened as he lost control of his car due to a tire burst.
