“I have always been interested in directing, and when I saw Kumbalangi Nights, I stayed up all night thinking about how a team creates something like this,” says Jayashree, who then sought opportunities and assisted friends on short films and web series.
When a friend Nainan Anto suggested the story, Jayashree was thrilled about the idea of directing it and worked on the concept of Rithwa with co-director and editor Amir. “Initially, we had thought that we would set it in the present times, but then it developed into a vintage 80s feel video. We did the shoot over two days in Thrissur at a house near my mother’s place. “I am very happy with the final product and have received great feedback for it, including from actor Parvathy, who launched it,” says Jayashree, who is currently working in a CA firm in Kochi.
