‘Achan Oru Vazha Vechu’ trailer promises a complete entertainer
While Malayalam cinema boasts a plethora of heartwarming and feel-good films that perfectly capture the essence of friendship, another side of the coin exists. There are several Malayalam movies that might be better choices for a lighthearted Friendship Day viewing due to their themes, emotions, or narratives. Let's take a closer look at why these particular movies might not fit the bill for a Friendship Day movie marathon.

Unlike the title, the Indrajith Sukumaran starrer ‘College Days’ is exactly the opposite of life in college. This thriller film is filled with deceitful, toxic friends who would go to any extent to prove they are cool or to hide their secrets. GN Krishnakumar’s directorial explores the lives of young medical students whose lives take a drastic turn as one of them kills an innocent student named Ananthu.

Friendship after college is a fine thing, but when things go out of control it can be a nuisance to others and the Nivin Pauly starrer ‘Saturday Night’ is a clear-cut example of what kind of friends you should never have in your life. Although the director Roshan Anddrews intention was to generate laughter out of the activities done by ‘Kirukkanum Koottarum’, the overall output turned out to be a disaster.

The next best example of a movie that cannot be watched on a good friendship day is the Tovino Thomas starrer ‘Dear Friend’. The movie revolves around a group of friends staying in Bangalore and things go bad when one among them disappears, leaving a cryptic letter.

Blessy-Mohanlal’s ‘Bhramaram’ is indeed one of the best drama thriller films in Mollywood. The movie puts forward the best example of how your perfect life can be ruined with the inclusion of bad friends. A small joke made by Sivankutty’s friends during their childhood turns out to be a big disaster in his life.

Another film that is not perfect to view on Friendship Day is the Sreenivasan starrer comedy film ‘Pavam Pavam Rajakumaran’. As the title itself suggests, even a very innocent man’s life can be turned into a disaster if he is filled with fake hopes and toxic friends. Sreenivasan’s character gets cheated by his friends into believing that he is loved by a beautiful girl who is a bank employee. Later Sreenivasan’s character’s life gets completely ruined, until the final twist is revealed!

‘Achan Oru Vazha Vechu’ will be hitting the big screens on Onam along with the other biggies ‘King of Kotha’, ‘RDX’, and ‘Ramachandra Boss & Co.’ and let’s wait and watch whether the Niranj starrer would turn out to be the surprise hit for this year.
Directed by Saandeep, the script of ‘Achan Oru Vazha Vechu’ is penned by the writer Manugopal and the cinematography will be done by P Sukumar.
Apart from Niranj, ‘Achan Oru Vazha Vechu’ offers a stellar cast that includes Mukesh, AV Anoop, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Bhagath Manuel, Appani Sharath, Johny Antony, Sohanlal, and many others.
