Aashiq Abu’s café courts controversy

Aashiq Abu’s café courts controversy
Ever since the arrest of actor Shine Tom Chacko in the cocaine case, reports have been doing the rounds that more film personalities are under the scanner, with Aashiq Abu and Rima Kallingal being some of the names quoted.
'The filmmaker had denied all such reports but it seems the issue hasn’t died down yet. On Saturday night, news spread that a café owned by Aashiq at Kochi is being raided by the police, and media thronged the premises.

However, it turns out that there were no raids, and it was just a routine checking from the part of the police. “A raid involves certain procedures which were not carried out. This was just a monitoring, a routine checking,” said T Narayanan, Dy. Commissioner (L&O, Traffic).
“At the time of the alleged raid, a salsa workshop was going on here. We are curious to know how such rumours originated and suspect a controversy,” says Jithu L, a partner at the café. Around the time the news spread, Aashiq posted a photo of him, Rima, and other friends at the café on his social networking page, suggesting that all is fine.
