Mollywood’s Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (
FEUOK
) recently issued a notice saying they stick to their stand of not supporting
OTT
releases before theatrical releases for
Malayalam
films, but they have allowed an exception for producer Anto Joseph’s Kilometres and Kilometres as the movie could get affected by piracy.
FEUOK’s stand has not been welcome by many producers and filmmakers. Director
Aashiq Abu took a dig at their circular on his social media page and wrote, “When the entire world is fighting a pandemic, a group of bigwigs from Kerala have issued a fatwa. Poor Anto Joseph is let go, but others are screwed. Their movies won’t reach theatres. Beware!”
