Krishand’s cyberpunk sci-fi film ‘Masthishka Maranam’ is gearing up for a February release, and the makers have now dropped the second song from it. Titled ‘Aaradhakan’, the song is composed by Varkey, who also co-wrote the lyrics with singer Indulekha Warrier. The quirky song could be your next earworm.
The makers dropped the song via social media, and said, “Ever wonder what it's like being a superfan who's ride-or-die... but also kinda turning your fave actor's life into a reality show? Aaradhakan nails that wild vibe – Indulekha Warrier spitting fire on the mic, Varkey cooking up this dope mix of rap, pop, Indo-house grooves, and that retro South Indian nostalgia. Stalkers, endless comments, sneaky pap shots? We see you, and we're jamming to it anyway! Who's your chaotic aaradhakan?”

All about ‘Masthiska Maranam’
‘Masthiska Maranam’ is helmed by Krishand, known for his critically acclaimed films such as ‘Aavasavyuham’ and ‘Purusha Pretham’. The film features Rajisha Vijayan in the lead role with actors Niranj Maniyanpilla Raju, Vishnu Agasthya, Divyaprabha, Jagadeesh, and Suresh Krishna in pivotal roles.
The director earlier revealed that he always wanted to do a sci-fi film and a cyberpunk film. ‘Masthiska Maranam’ happens to be a marriage of both. “I always wanted to make a sci-fi film, and I have long been fascinated by cyberpunk. It often depicts a world where the quality of life is poor but the quality of technology is very high. I was influenced by dystopian ideas like those in George Orwell’s 1984, where governments control our attention, and also by Aldous Huxley, who suggested that governments would not bother with control at all as they simply keep the people distracted. That is exactly what seems to be happening now. These days, people are more concerned with trivial things than with pressing issues. This is why I wanted to make a retro-futuristic cyberpunk film. When I first pitched the idea, many felt there was no business in it. Finally, Ajith Vinayaka backed the project, thanks to our earlier collaboration on Arun Chandu’s Gaganachari. For those unfamiliar with cyberpunk, the film might feel like another episode of Black Mirror, but if you know the genre, you will also see the influence of films like The Matrix,” he told The New Indian Express earlier.
