Prithviraj Sukumaran’s latest release, ‘Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life', is winning the hearts of the audience. The film, directed by Blessy, is based on Benyamin’s novel, which is inspired by true events. Prithviraj Sukumaran, who essayed the role of the protagonist, Najeeb, recently sat down and had a conversation with the real Najeeb. Though Prithviraj had access to the real Najeeb, he didn’t meet him, as he wanted to portray the Najeeb depicted in the novel. Now that the film is finally in theaters, Prithviraj Sukumaran met Najeeb and had a heartfelt conversation.

The makers have dropped the conversation on YouTube. In the video, Prithviraj Sukumaran is talking to Najeeb about the latter’s grim days in Saudi Arabia. The actor turns quite emotional as he learns about the thoughts of Najeeb.

“Every day in the desert looked the same. There is only the sunrise and sunset,” Najeeb shares.

When Prithviraj Sukumaran asked if he believed that he would escape, Najeeb said, “I always thought that I'd never escape. There were no more gods left for me to pray to. I prayed to every single God. Death was better than the life I experienced there. Many times I used to just lie down on the sand, hoping that some creature would bite me and I would die. When I wake up, the thought of my family back home kills me. My wife was already 8 months pregnant when I landed there. Did she deliver a baby or not was the only thought I had in mind all along.”

Prithviraj Sukumaran also emphasized the fact that although he and his team have done their best to portray the experiences Najeeb had and also had hardships while shooting, it is only one percent of what Najeeb would have actually gone through. “I am sure the experience we had while filming or the experience people get while watching the movie won’t be even 1% of what you experienced; we cannot bring it on the screen. But you know what I still believe? If a person who lies down on the sands dies and wakes up again every single morning, then God kept you alive to share this story, right? He kept you alive to share this story with the world. At times, I think Najeeb is chosen by God. There are so many people who might have gone through similar difficult experiences, but God chose one to share this story. You are God’s chosen one,” Prithviraj Sukumaran said.

The team shared the conversation and captioned, “Watch the heartfelt conversation between the real Najeeb and reel Najeeb (Prithviraj) as they share their incredible journeys and experiences. Don't miss this unique perspective on #TheGoatLife!”
