Actress Miya George joins the bandwagon of actresses who are landing plum roles in Tollywood, and she is debuting in the industry as actor Sunil’s heroine. The movie, which is a romcom, is to be directed by
Kranthi Madhav. The director says, “Actor Sunil is an excellent dancer and I was on the lookout for a fresh face, who can also shake a leg on par with him. I happened to watch a video of Miya’s stage show and was impressed with her dancing skills.
I figured out later that she is a popular actress in Malayalam, and she has done about 25 films. I decided to cast her in the film as heroine.”
About her role, the filmmaker says, “It is a beautiful character. She plays a happy-go-lucky, joyous person. She is a modern girl, who is a manager in a company. Her character is also shown as travelling to Kerala and talking in Malayalam. I also felt that her Malayali background would come in handy at that juncture.” He hints that the film will have more emphasis on the comedy part, rather than the romance. So, is
Miya getting to dance a lot in the film? “It’s not a dance-based movie, I wanted the heroine to compliment the hero well and dance is just one aspect of their characters.”
The film will have portions shot in Venice, Kerala and Hyderabad. Regarding the other actors, the director says there would be many comedians from Tollywood, though it’s too early to confirm the names. The movie will go on floors in June.
